Australian Native Hibiscus And Bauxite - Hibiscus tiliaceus Rubra Red Cottonwood by Joan Stratton - A single red throated, yellow hibiscus flower fallen to the bauxite pebbled beach at Hornibrook, Lorim Point, Weipa, Queensland, Australia.

An Australian native red cottonwood tree with large rich maroon-green foliage and bright yellow (occasionally coral) flowers. They tolerate high wind, salt soil and poor drainage which is why they do so well on the shoreline at Hornibrook!
