A Grey Day by Joan Stratton - A lone pigeon sits in a trees without leaves on a grey wet season day in Weipa, Queensland, Australia. Torres Strait Pigeon, Torresian Imperial Pigeon aka nutmeg pigeon, white nutmeg pigeon, Australian pied imperial pigeon is a large plump pigeon. These pigeons usually arrive in Weipa from the north prior to the wet season and when seen the towns folk usually say the rain is coming soon. It's unusual for me to get a shot of them where they are not in a palm tree eating the red seeds.
