The Colour Of Palms Solomon Islands by Joan Stratton - A modern abstract looking up to the wonderfully tall tropical palms of Gizo, the capital of the Western Province in the Solomon Islands. We visited this delightful little island where you fly in via a small landing strip on the nearby island of Nusatupe which is to the north east of the town, in 1989. We were living in Bougainville Island, North Solomon's, PNG. Our island was on strict curfew during the sorry business of the independence war with PNG, so we wanted to get away for a break and Gizo was our destination.
