Sea And Sunset Reflections Birds Fly High by Joan Stratton - A wet season fiery golden sunset behind the silhouettes of tropical mangrove trees located in the still shallows as the sea birds fly home to their roosts, a mirror reflection in the foreground where the coast curls around either side of the inlet at Wallaby Island beach in Weipa, Cape York, Queensland, Australia.

Welcome to my home! This photo the merging of two photos from the same area, forms part of my Weipa & Cape York Collection.

Weipa is a remote town on the Gulf of Carpentaria which is on the west coast of Cape York Peninsula, Queensland, Australia. The Alngith people are the traditional owners of Weipa and the site has significant indigenous cultural history and heritage areas. The name "Weipa" is derived from the Anhathangayth Aboriginal language. It comes from "Waypa" which means "fighting ground".
