Portrait Showtime Lights by Joan Stratton - A portrait of a fabulous female impersonator, she is on stage preparing for the show, checking her position, the sound and the lights. Today she is unusually nervous and pensive as the crew hustle, bustle and flit about around her, yelling instructions off into the distance. Her marvellously made up eyes are cast downward, and her usually golden features have been painted off white to trick the light. In her half-conscious state she whispers, to herself, but it is clearly picked up by the stage microphone, "My parents, are coming to see the show..."
