Pandanus Palm and Sky by Joan Stratton - A painted pandanus palm tree with the seed nut ball at the centre. Like many Australian native plants the seed can be geminated with fire. The Pandanus palm has special meaning to the local indigenous people of Weipa. The patterns of Weipa, Queensland, Australia.

The Pandanus palm - palm-like, dioecious trees and shrubs native to the Old World tropics and subtropics. The species vary in size from small shrubs less than 1 m (3.3 ft) tall, to medium-sized trees 20 m (66 ft) tall, typically with a broad canopy, heavy fruit, and moderate growth rate (Description from Wikipedia).
