Description
Island Sunset by Joan Stratton - A fiery red, orange and yellow watercolour painting tropical sunset with palm tree silhouettes and birds flying high watercolours on paper.
Although I live in the tropics, in Far North, Queensland, Australia this piece was a reflection of the time I spent working at the Bougainville Copper Mine, on Bougainville Island, PNG (North Solomon Islands) in the 1980s. It is such a beautiful and wonderous place, most people who went there carry the place in their hearts always.
