Girl With Wild Yellow Daisies by Joan Stratton - Inspired by a memory in the long distant past of my youngest sister, Vee, she was only a toddler then, who followed me (in my early twenties) out into the spring fields across the road from my parents house in country Victoria, Australia. The fields were full of wild yellow Australian daisies, they massed across the ground like carpet. I found an old fallen tree to sit on and picked her up and placed her beside me. She squealed with delight as I made daisy chains to place around her neck and ears, then I picked a bunch for her to hold but she threw them up into the air above her head and it rained down daisies as we both laughed until we cried with joy.
