Daisy Chain On Black by Joan Stratton - Delightful childhood memories dancing wild yellow Australian daisies in a chain highlighted by silver orbs an illustration of spring, daisy chains made with loving hands and splatters, drips and drops of paint on a black background.

Lush springtime paddocks flush with wild daisies, smiling to the late morning sun. A 60’s child lays carefree and dreaming, feels it's kiss on her skin. Her friends, their baskets filling as they sort the best daisies for the task, with thick stalks and large sunny faces, petals stretch to full extent. They now sit in a circle with their prizes at the centre. Taking one daisy at a time, feeling down the stem to the thickest point, they cut a long slot using their thumb nails pushing through to the supporting finger, then widen the slot as they push the other daisy stem through, without breaking the hole. The youngest looks up beaming proudly, showing her completed prize! The daisy chains are crowns high on their heads and others like jewels hang about their necks, arms, ankles and draped over their ears...
