We FEED off each other’s PAIN,
Rather than their JOY.
Gossip about them,
Rather than HELP or lend a hand.
Shut them out,
Rather than OPEN the door.
Run away or don't TALK,
Rather than working it out.
Carry the HURT like a badge,
Rather than FORGIVE.

We WANT to CONTROL,
And FAIL to LEAD.
PUNISH them because of LOVE?
Rather than taking them in our arms.
Hide behind our GUILT,
Rather than CONFESSING.
Want to be RIGHT,
Rather than UNDERSTAND.
Lack EMPATHY looking after number one,
Rather than showing KINDNESS.

FEED the JOY!
One day at a TIME,
Rather than climbing the mountain.
Tread lightly, BREAK no HEARTS
And CAUSE no PAIN, today!
