Description
Clydesdale Horses Goorambat Silo Black And White by Joan Stratton - A black and white art piece of an industrial area in the small rural village of Goorambat, Victoria, Australia with the wonderfully painted wall art of the Clydesdale horses; Clem, Sam and Banjo (wall artist Jimmy Dvate).
Clydesdale horses have always been the backbone of the Goorambat farming community. Originally a Scottish breed used for farming by the early settlers until long after the first tractor arrived in Goorambat in 1924. They are a much loved working animal of the district. This picture brings back memories of my childhood when the milkman used to deliver milk via horse and cart. I'd wake up early, before anyone else was awake, so I could run out and catch the cart to ride it down the street then run back home.
This piece forms part of my Street Art Wall Art Graffiti Collection. Where known I have credited the wall/street/graffiti artist and listed the location of the piece. With many of these works I have incorporated the surroundings, landscapes, streetscapes and given them an arty feel, to enhance and/or blend with the street/wall/graffiti art to create an overall art piece.

Terrific work Joan! I was surprised to see these silos from my local area in your gallery. For many years I attended a motorbike rally at this site. We camped right near this silo.
Joan Stratton replied:
Thanks so much Linda! I am originally from that area of Victoria :) The silo and other public art work in the region is amazing!
