Butterfly Patterns Dancing Golden Orbs by Joan Stratton - An illustration of the late afternoon golden light orbs dancing about the gathering group of beautiful swallowtail Ulysses butterfly. They are so lovely as they fly by, you see flashes of brilliant blue.
Papilio Ulysses, the Ulysses butterfly (aka the Blue emperor), this large, beautiful brilliant blue swallowtail butterfly is found in Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. Its size varies depending on subspecies, but the wingspan is about 10.5 cm (4.1 in) in Queensland, my home, where it is used as an emblem for tourism.
