Brilliant Blue Ulysses by Joan Stratton - A lifelike illustration of the wonderful Ulysses Swallowtail butterfly on a neon blue and grey background with two small butterflies dancing on the right. Ulysses butterfly has brown under wing and a brilliant blue and black over wing. I love seeing them in my garden, as they flit about the brilliant flash of blue always catches my attention.
Ulysses butterfly (aka Blue emperor), is a large swallowtail butterfly found in Queensland, Australia. It is also found in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
These detailed drawings take me many long days of drawing to complete.
