Boldly Coloured Rocky Mountain Forest by Joan Stratton - As I make my way up the mountain side I climb over the brightly coloured ruff rocks, made from a multitude of tiny balls of colour, the dark trunks of the forest trees and the cooling shadow of the canopy on the foreground are striking contrast against the deep blue sky.

Starting with my paintings from 2006 of "Rocky Garden", acrylics, charcoal, bauxite, sand and spray paints on canvas, then digitally modifying the piece. The inspiration for the original piece was the wild mountains around Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
