1950s Threes Sisters Fishing For...2of2 by Joan Stratton - A Vintage 1950s era contemporary sepia toned painted portrait of three beautiful sisters, sitting on a rock by a creek, having a bit of fun fishing. Looks like they have caught something on the line :)

Part of my 1940s And 1950s Gallery which is inspired by life in the 1940s and 1950s with art pieces that remind me of the old movie star publicity shots or scenes from movies of that period. The old photographs used for this work are approved use, from my parents collection where I have taken the very small photo (approx. 50x50mm or smaller), repaired any damage then created a digital painting from it. It's quite a task to bring these beauties back and transforming them into works of art, it is something special, especially as the series are of my Mum and Dad and their siblings.
